Texture Wall Applications

Textured walls can add depth and visual interest to a room. There is a step-by- step companion on how to apply texture to a wall.

Materials Required for applying texture to the wall are.

Pre-Mixed Texture Emulsion: You can find this at most home enhancement stores. It comes in colorful textures, similar as popcorn, orange peel, or knockdown.

Paint comber A comber with a thick nap(1/2 inch or further) is ideal for applying texture.

Paint charger To hold the texture emulsion while you work.

Trowel or drywall cutter For spreading and shaping the texture.

Drop cloths or plastic sheeting To cover your bottoms and cabinetwork.

Painter’s tape recording To mask off areas you do not want textured.

Safety goggles and dust mask To cover your eyes and lungs from dust and debris.

grinding block or sandpaper For smoothing the wall before and after texturing.

Steps to Apply Texture to a Wall

Prepare the Room: Remove any cabinetwork from the area and cover the bottoms with drop cloths or plastic sheeting. Use painter’s tape recording to mask off areas like baseboards, trim, and ceilings that you do not want textured.

Clean and Repair the Wall:  Insure the wall is clean and free of any loose makeup, dust, or debris. form any cracks or holes with spackling emulsion and let it dry.

Prime the Wall:  Depending on the condition of your wall and the texture you want to achieve, you may want to apply a manual. This can help the texture emulsion cleave better and produce a more indeed finish.

Mix the Texture Emulsion: Follow the instructions on the texture emulsion vessel to prepare it for operation. generally, you will need to stir it completely.

Apply the Texture: Use a makeup comber to apply the texture emulsion to the wall. Start in a small, invisible area to exercise your fashion. Roll on the emulsion in a harmonious pattern, making sure to produce the asked texture. You can experiment with different ways to achieve the texture you want.

Shape the Texture: After applying the texture with the comber, use a trowel ordrywall cutter to shape and upgrade the texture.
