Application Process for Allover Red-Oxide Primer

  1. Surface Preparation:
    • Clean the metal surface thoroughly to remove dirt, rust, grease, or any other contaminants. Use a wire brush, sandpaper, or abrasive pad to remove loose rust or old paint, ensuring a smooth, clean surface for better adhesion.
    • For optimal results, ensure the surface is dry before applying the primer.
  2. Stirring:
    • Stir the Allover Red-Oxide Primer well before use to ensure a consistent texture and uniform color.
  3. Thinning (if necessary):
    • If the primer is too thick for your application, thin it with an appropriate solvent (such as water or paint thinner) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Typically, a small amount of thinning is recommended for spray application.
  4. Application:
    • Apply the primer using a brush, roller, or spray gun. For brush and roller application, ensure an even layer is applied to the surface. For spray application, hold the nozzle at a consistent distance from the surface and apply in light, even coats.
    • Apply 2-3 coats for optimal corrosion protection, allowing a drying time of 2-3 hours between each coat.
  5. Drying Time:
    • Allow the primer to fully dry for at least 24 hours before applying the topcoat. Drying times may vary depending on the ambient temperature and humidity levels.
  6. Topcoat Application:
    • After the primer has dried, proceed with applying your chosen topcoat for a durable, long-lasting finish.
